After graduation from Reynolds Secondary in 1974, she attended UVic, studying music education in her first year, switching to the Department of Music in years 2-4. She completed her BMus in 1978. Sheri moved to Kamloops to join the Kamloops Symphony as principal flutist. In her second year there, she was asked to teach elementary music, K-7 on a letter of permission. Discovering that she loved teaching, she completed a PDP in teaching from Simon Fraser University. Returning to Victoria, she was employed first in Sooke, then Cowichan District and finally Saanich District. She met her husband, also a teacher, the same year she started in Saanich and they have now been together in Victoria for 30 years. She retired in 2012 to enjoy music-making, traveling, and caring for her family. Her new granddaughter is her newest joy.
