When the 2011 Food Hardship rankings were released, Winston-Salem no longer ranked in the Top 25 Major Metropolitan Cities experiencing food hardship. Greensboro/High Point, however, climbed the charts to 4th, with a food hardship rate of 23.7.

Food for Thought Forum #1

Several community and civic partners, including the Interactive Resource Center, the Guilford County Cooperative Extension, UNCG Communication Studies, and Share the Harvest of Guilford County organized a public forum to address food insecurity in Greensboro. The first of a two-part forum, this event featured speakers from Guilford County Schools and the Department of Social Services, as well as a viewing of the documentary "Food Stamped." The purpose of the first forum was to help community members get familiar with food insecurity, as well as the challenges we faced in Greensboro.
