Spanish Inquisition

This was an organitasation with special powers to find people who didn´t follow the oficial Catholic religión. The Inquitition arrested and interrogated people. Sometimes people were tortured and killed.

Juana de Castilla

She was the daughter of the Catholic Monarchs. She was queen of Castilla and Aragón from 1500 to 1516. She was the mother of Carlos I. But the country was ruled by her husband and her father.

In the year 1519 Hernán Cortés conquered Mexico. He conquered the Azteca King and founded the city of Mexico. He became to be the governor of New Spain

Fernando Magallanes was the first person to sail acrros the Pacific Ocean. he left Spain in 1519 and crossed the Atlantic Ocean. He sailed around South America and into the Pacific Ocean: He crossed the Pacific, and arrived in Phillippines, where he was killed in battle.

Juan Sebastián Elcano

When Magallanes died, Juan Sebastian Elcano took over the expedition. He arrived in Spain in 1522. Elcano bicame the first person to sail around the world

Francisco Pizzarro

Francisco Pizzarro was another conquistador. In 1932 he went to Peru. Pizarro and his men took the Inca emperor, Atahualpa, captive. Pizarro conquered the Incas and became the governor of Peru.
