the reason of the war
the agreements of 1954 brought an end to the First Indochina war. Indochina was split into 3 countries : Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam. Vietnam was separated in 2 politic regims : the Vietminh established a communist state in the North led by Ho Chi Minh. Diem, in the South was supported by the USA, giving financial aid to wrestle against the monolithic communism from Moscow.
