If I Exist It Is Only In Your Imagination!
Advaita boldly declares that the waking world is nothing but an endless dream. This declaration is reflected in the life and writings of Swami Chinmayananda. "Your kind letter of 1st May with all its load of greetings could come up the ghats and reach me only today. Thank you very much. Pune celebrated Birthday 5th in the series that I had to go through this year. Every centre seems to have definitive news that my date of birth was the one they have chosen! Clearly indicates it is a delusion since no human can be born on more than one date!" - Swami Chinmayananda

Secret Initiation
They have been my silent inspiration. They have helped me more often than I dare to confess. It cannot be explained; because it all happened when I was only three, or perhaps, four years old. I remember the unique smell of the long, white beard, the rough hairy chest, and the rounded soft belly. This I remember clearly of Sri Chattambi Swamigal, in the early twenties. - Swami Chinmayananda

From the Pen of PBK Menon
Sri K Rama Rao, eminent editor, noted freedom fighter and member of the first Rajya Sabha, gave Balan his first job as a journalist sub-editor at the National Herald at Lucknow and later at Delhi. He wrote a series of articles—short, critical satires—on the imperative of socialism in a society where the vast majority of people were poor. These were soon published regularly in Indian national papers. By the end of 1945, he started to write for The National Herald, a popular Indian newspaper, on subjects ranging from history and culture to social and political issues.

Days with Shri Swami Tapovanam
He is rather an Upavanam full of fragrance of the flowering of Vedanta and filled with the fruits of his mature realization. It is an Upavanam wherein countless bees in the form of seekers, sadhaks and sannayasins crowd to drink of the honey of true wisdom - Swami Shivananda

Let Hindus be Hindus
"My words shall be headed", said I in a lecture. And I added as an explanation, "I do not say, 'You shall heed my words' I say 'My words shall be heeded'. I address myself too! I too must heed my words." - Swami Chinmayananda, Scraps & Bits

First Yagna
"The evening discourses and the morning classes are going on smoothly and to the full satisfaction of the Swami. Although the attendances in the Satsang are sufficiently strong, to the unsatiable missionary zeal, Chinmaya feels dissatisfied. And this dissatisfaction shall be ever in this bosom until the last living human being also reaches us to listen to Vedanta and act up to it." - Swami Chinmayananda

Back to Uttar Kashi
On his way to Uttarakashi, Pujya Gurudev wrote from Haridwar to the Mission members: After sixteen years of continuous work, I am feeling tired and inwardly cracked up. I am going back to the Ganges - to rest and serve from there - perhaps, to feel again the Whole... Now learn to five in spiritual sadhana, lo serve in discipline and to achieve the maximum for the helpless society around you... Bring out with joyous abandon and irrepressible heroism, the beauty of the Hindu culture in every act and thought of yours. Cultivate them through study and abhyasaand with a mad exhilaration, share them in your life, dazzling the world with your love, charity and service, and the courage to live the righteous life.

Last Message - The Mission & the Vision
This is the last article Gurudev sent to Tapovan Prasad. Herein he imparts clear instructions on how the Mission members should carry the Mission forward in the absence of the Master. It seemed as if Gurudev wrote this in anticipation of the attainment of his Mahasamadhi which followed soon after.
