The Hicks Estate, located at the bottom left of the map, represents the region where the Yemen Cafe is located today.
The Yemen Cafe would be located on the left hand side, showing the implementation of more streets to the landscape and the beginnings of a grid system.
Beginning is the 1800s, Brooklyn was becoming industrialized. This shows the change of the plot from agriculturally oriented to commercially oriented.
This map, produced by Henry Fulton, shows the contrast of farming plots to the city plots of 1874. The red lines on this map outline the farms of the past while the 1874 landscape suggests a more commercial outlook.
