In the 2000s is where pop and hip hop music became the most popular it's ever been. Many other styles such as techno, pop rock, alternative, country, metal and hard rock are emerging as well. It's an era where almost all types of music are accepted. Lots of artists including Chris Brown, Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, Shakira, Katy Perry, Black Eyed Peas, etc.
In the 2010s is where we stand today with out music. New genres have developed such as house music, dupstep, etc. Artists nowadays include Bruno Mars, Taylor Swift, Maroon 5, Rihanna, Justin Bieber, Fun, Adele, One Direction, Flo Rida, and the list goes on. The whole generation of music has led to our modern day pop and alternative music. Because of the rise of clubbing and partying, music that are popular these days tend to be more upbeat and dance like.
