It's time for another round up of new features and Tiki-Toki news! Firstly, the new features: Tiki-Toki now works with DailyMotion videos and is more mobile device friendly. Secondly, the news: timelines can now be viewed in 3d and we have recently released Tiki-Toki Desktop, a downloadable Mac version of Tiki-Toki.
You have always been able to embed YouTube and Vimeo videos in your timelines, and now you can do the same with DailyMotion videos. To add a DailyMotion video to a story, just copy either the long or short URL and paste it into the media source field. Be sure to change the media type to 'Video'.
We've made some improvments to how timelines display on mobile devices. On 2d timelines, the text is bigger so it's much easier to read, and any images are kept small. For 3d timelines, we recommend increasing the panel size so the text will be bigger, which can be done via the 3d Settings panel.
The 3d view was first announced earlier this summer, and it does looks fabulous if I do say so myself! It is available to all Tiki-Toki accounts (though only premium accounts can set it to the default view). To set it up, open your timeline for editing, go to the 'Settings' tab on the admin panel and click the '3d Settings' button. You can find out more here.
For all the Mac people out there, you can now create as many Tiki-Toki timelines as you like (including 3d ones!) using our new Mac app. It is available via the Mac App Store and it's currently on sale for half price! More details are available here.
As you can see, we're always working on Tiki-Toki, adding and tweaking things to make it better. If you have any questions about the new features or news, or even have some suggestions for future changes, get in touch with us at blog@tiki-toki.com.
